When you become a mother, time whirls you right by like a soft breeze, passing you by fleetingly and never coming back. Oh, how grateful and joyful I am to be a stay-at-home mother, to be able to witness the every single growing stages my baby goes through! Oh, how happy am I to be right there at home with my baby, to nourish the baby with oodles of love, tickles, snuggling, and warm breastmilk and not to worry about getting up early to go to work on time. And not to worry about the heart-wrenching process of leaving my baby at the daycare. With that, I have so much to be thankful to the Lord. I do not mean to be biased but I strongly believe that every mother should sacrifice their career to be home with their babies, because every second with babies are so precious more than gems.

As Laine from Laine's Letters have put it in eloquently at the following link:

http://www.lainesletters.com/letters/whyilovehomemaking.html

... I love homemaking because I can kiss my kids thirty times a day if I want.

... I love homemaking because I get to be HOME.
I love homemaking because God called me to this job and I love it!!!!"

Oh yes, I won't have time to do that when my baby is at daycare and I am enslaved at some desk and computer working for a boss...

On the other hand, Annissa just turned 5 months! Last week she just learned how to roll and sit up without support. She knows who her Momma is, and grins in delight every time she sees me. I am looking forward to the time when she will begin the solids next month, when she is six months old. It will be a tug of heart event for me, because she has been thriving on breastmilk since the day she was born. It will be the start of the weaning process but I do plan to breastfeed her until she decides to wean on her own for herself.

Tomorrow will be my birthday, and I will be 26 years old. Strangely, I feel much older than my age because of the wisdom I have gained from mothering, and from the Lord. As always, I am not perfect and am continually learning! As for the birthday, my husband's mother is cooking me a huge birthday dinner with a variety of mouthwatering Middle Eastern foods tonight. Yummy!

I think I will end for now and explore others websites and blogs for an inspiration.  May you have a sweet day full of joy and smiles for life itself.

Books, books, books!

It seems like lately I am slightly obsessed with books because...I do not know why, really, but I'm itching to read, read, and read anything I can get my hands on. But I wince at the very sight of chick literature *shudders* like that Shopaholic series or the Meg Cabot series. They are a pure waste of my time. Just recently upon a visit to the library with Annissa sitting on my left hip, I spotted this book on the "New Arrivals" bookshelf:

The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder

http://www.rebeccawellsbooks.com/books/

*squeals* There it is! The ripe fruit of Rebecca Wells' newest work: "The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder". I loveddd Rebecca Wells' first book "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" and the rest of her books. So naturally, I will love this book, when the library put it in actual bookshelf than asking for 5 bucks for rental since it's the new arrival book.

Anyways, this is totally a random entry but I was so excited I had to share this with you!

simple-woman-daybook

Today is...

Outside My Window...
It's a blustery autumn afternoon out there. It's cold enough for us to start bundling Annissa up in thick layers of clothing!

I am thinking...
About how I am always continually learning as a mother and wife. I have yet so much more to learn and I am enjoying every moment of it and I won't trade it for anything else!

I am thankful for...
Warm clothings, a roof above our heads, a bellyful of delicious food, and people that I love is right here with me. O, Lord, you are so, so, so good!

From the learning rooms...
I just borrowed three books on child development from the library and I am so excited to learn more things about my baby's development stages! Right now, Annissa is starting to roll over halfway, sit up more independently, and make lots of cooing and mmmming noises. On the other hand, I am interested in learning how to crotchet very soon!

From the kitchen...
-Homemade Tacos
-
Cream cheese apple dip for dessert

I am wearing...
Black pants along with a soft pink button-up sweater and a pair of wedding diamond earrings.

I am creating...
A warm and happy home with my hubsand and my daughter with my oodles of love!

I am going...
To watch and learn how to make okra stew with lamb from my aunt in law. You can smell cilantro and garlic cooking in the air! Yummy!

I am reading...
Numerous of baby-related books. I love to read when I'm feeding Annissa!

I am hoping...
For more God-given wisdom. In the Bible it says the Lord shall give you wisdom if you ask Him sincerely!

Around the house...
I have so many home tasks to do: put away laundry, iron, cook dinner, take care of the baby, bathe the baby, sweep the floor, clean the bathroom, make bed, vaccum, and more. I am never bored as a full-time housewife and mother! (smiles)

One of my favorite things...
Oreo ice-cream! Mmmmm!

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning…
Managing my time effectively.

A spiritual lesson I'm learning...
Forgiveness.

I am praying for...
That Lord will show where He wants our family to be during the next several months.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
-Go to doctor about my bad nasal allergies
-Catch up on my housework
-Do some readings and research
-Fellowship in the Lord's house
-Snuggle up and play a lot with my baby!
-Plant lots of kisses on my hubby!

A picture I thought I'd like to share...
windyarch
Me, Dad, Janelle, and Saif at the Delicate Arch! It was truly a breathtaking sight and I sure hope that we'd be able to take our daughter to see it in the future before it collapses!

I am truly fortunate to have a husband like Saif. Despite of our imperfections, we will have a true love in marriage that can be only found in Christ.

I love this picture of us, which was taken when we were exploring a national park in Colorado.

Ahh, I have so much to say, and I have so much desire to write about numerous of things on this blog but my hands are full with my little baby Annissa, who just woke up from her nap and am looking around for her Mommy! Bye-bye for now!
